Role Overview
We are an award‑winning gym chain that is quickly expanding across the UK. This manager role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, along with the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. You will maintain and elevate the club’s standards and reputation while nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
* Maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks and report and chase all defects to keep the building and equipment safe.
* Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational and daily expectations are delivered.
* Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
* Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
* Drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
* Ensure the gym facility is of the highest cleanliness standard.
* Manage the in‑house cleaners to maintain cleaning standards and oversee the weekly banking process to minimise wastage and maximise profit.
* Maintain uniform standards for all team members and yourself.
* Always deliver outstanding member service.
* Create an environment where the team enjoys working together.
* Serve as an ambassador of JD Gyms.
Skills and Experience
* Proven and successful management experience within a leisure‑related industry.
* Passionate about customer service and inspirational leadership.
* At least Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.
* Track record of driving sales, coordinating local marketing activity and recruiting/manage a high‑performing team.
* Ideally experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or other similar operational role.
