We are looking to expand our Blackfinch Asset Management team and we now require a tenacious, driven and self‑motivated individual to join as a Senior Business Development Manager.
As a Senior BDM, you will represent Blackfinch across all products, solutions, funds and services within Asset Management.
You will be required to maintain and grow existing supporters as well as identify and develop new relationships, enabling you to distribute the Blackfinch range of products and solutions, creating long‑term relationships.
As a Senior BDM, you will engage with larger firms and build deep, long‑lasting partnerships as well as work closely with adviser firms to understand their CIP & CRP proposition, working on a consultative selling basis and demonstrating how Asset Management solutions can support their business and achieve good client outcomes.
The Senior BDM will demonstrate a good understanding of all products and solutions across the wider group and proactively look for ways to promote these offerings to our client base. Working closely with the Head of Asset Management, you will ensure targets are delivered in line with your objectives and key performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities include:
* To grow key relationship with Business Owners and develop a collegiate approach through creating a partnership through both Asset Management and Tax products and solutions.
* Demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge across Asset Management products/solutions, helping advisers to understand the benefit of using asset management.
* To professionally manage and further develop activity in the region, such as meetings, presentations, attending events.
* Deliver a consistent and predictable flow of new business for Asset Management, to meet targets.
* Create a pipeline of new business for both Asset Management, identifying key stages of the life cycle and evidence of likely sales success.
* Support the Head of Asset Management to deliver sales targets for Asset Management, this includes MPS, TPS and Single Strategy funds, from both the region and across the UK.
* Attend meetings, events, presentations within the region and across the UK, when required, this will be BFAM specific or working closely with a Tax BDM on joint activity.
* Work closely with Fund Managers across Blackfinch where relevant, this can include events, Investment Committee meetings, 121’s, webinars or any activity that enhances the Blackfinch brand and helps achieve sales targets. All Fund Manager activity needs to be agreed with line manager and planned effectively.
* Your region will also be supported by an external BDM, focusing on the Tax product range, you will work closely to develop tax opportunities in order to maintain and grow current levels of tax business. The BDM will also be responsible for identifying Asset Management sales leads, to be managed by the Executive BDM.
Skills & Experience
* At least 3-5 years experience in Asset Management.
* Known and evidenced performance versus targets.
* Have a minimum of 3 years experience in using a database and CRM systems.
* Relevant and professional qualifications.
* Have a good working knowledge of all Microsoft programmes.
* The ability to maintain and build relationships is paramount.
* High level of customer service and reliability.
* Organisation and planning are key.
* The ability and skill to interpret KPI’s and MI will be core to success.
* Demonstrating transferable sales skills in understanding and promoting Asset Management products/solutions is fundamental.
* Ability to work with and influence at all levels of an organization.
* Strong networking ability.
* Able to effectively work to plan to include objectives and KPI measures.
* Can drive activity with a Distribution Sales Executive or another BDM.
* Have excellent and confident communication skills and ability to present information clearly and concisely to individuals and groups.
* Demonstrate ambition and be driven to succeed.
* Have a strong and flexible work ethic.
* Maintain a resilient attitude.
* Demonstrate at all times, exceptional interpersonal skills.
* A willingness to study role specific materials and courses and to develop personally through.
Essential Qualifications
* Diploma in Financial Services or equivalent but not essential.
* IMC or equivalent industry qualification.
* Currently working towards or willing to work towards Chartered status in Financial Services or equivalent.
