Crewing & Recruitment Officer - £30k-£35k
We're not here to be another cog in the maritime machine. We exist to address the issues that are broken in maritime training, cadet management, and crew operations. Our work is focused, fast-paced, and personal.
Who We Are:
Watermark is a maritime consultancy specialising in cadet training, crewing solutions, and technical management. But more than that, we care about doing the right thing, building long-term relationships, and setting high standards across the board.
The company was founded with a clear desire to raise standards in the maritime sector to offer a high-quality, practical service for shipping companies who want to outsource cadet training and crewing with confidence.
We're run straightforwardly: no unnecessary hierarchy, no corporate jargon, just a team of people committed to doing things properly. We're responsible, ethical, and efficient — and we focus on what matters.
We promote genuine diversity in maritime — not by ticking boxes, but by backing capable people from all backgrounds and building an environment where good ideas rise, regardless of where they come from.
Our Values:
• Autonomy with accountability
• Continuous improvement (Kaizen mindset)
• Practical, real-world problem solving
• Trust and professionalism
How We Work:
Employees aren't micromanaged. You'll be trusted. We want people who can get on with things, ask the right questions, and tell us when we're wrong. We're building something special, and we want people who are excited to be part of that.
If you join Watermark, you'll start with regular time in the office. Not because we don't trust you — but because we want to build that trust together. Over time, you'll earn the flexibility to work in the way that suits you best.
We'd like employees to commit to attending the office twice a week. While this won't necessarily be mandated, it sets the right tone. It helps with collaboration, supports trust-building, and covers the kind of in-person moments, client meetings, expos and ship visits, that matter in our industry.
