We are seeking dedicated and professional School Caretakers and Assistant Site Managers to join our network of Primary, Secondary, and SEN schools. We have immediate, high:demand positions available for both Temp/Supply and Permanent contracts.
The Role: Keeping Schools Safe and Functional
School Caretakers are the backbone of a safe and efficient school environment. Your core responsibilities will focus on premises management, health and safety, and security. Duties typically include:

Security and Access: Opening and securing the school site, responding to alarm call:outs, and managing key:holder responsibilities.

Routine Maintenance: Undertaking minor repairs (plumbing, joinery, painting, fixture repair) to ensure the building is in excellent working order.

Grounds Maintenance: Maintaining external areas, including litter picking, ensuring clear pathways, and basic grounds work.
*
Health and Safety (H and S): Conducting regular checks (e.g., fire safety, water temperature, Legionella checks) and ensuring compliance with H and S regulations.

Contractor Liaison: Overseeing and monitoring external contractors (e.g., maintenance, cleaners) while on:site.

Porterage and Setup: Setting up and dismantling furniture and equipment for assemblies, exams, and school events.

What We Are Looking For (Essential Criteria):

Practical Skills: Demonstrable DIY, maintenance, or trade skills (basic plumbing, carpentry, painting).

Safety Knowledge: Understanding of basic Health and Safety procedures relevant to school premises.

Reliability: Proven record of punctuality and dependability, including flexibility for split shifts (e.g., 6am opens, 6pm closes) and occasional out:of:hours call:outs.

DBS: A clear and current Enhanced DBS (or immediate willingness ).

Desirable: Previous experience as a School Caretaker or Site Assistant is a strong advantage.
