Job Description
We are looking for a mobile Service Engineer (AC) to provide air conditioning–biased building services engineering maintenance across multiple commercial properties throughout the designated region.
This includes fault finding, repairs, maintenance and installation, with a mobile role covering the Midlothian area and a company van provided.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver AC and refrigeration-biased PPM, proactive and reactive works within set timeframes via the helpdesk.
2. Inspect, repair, modify and install refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including compressors, chillers and system controls.
3. Carry out routine preventive maintenance inspections and complete required adjustments or repairs.
4. Diagnose faults and repair or replace defective components such as thermostats, switches, fan controls, relays, filters and compressors.
5. Install, rebuild, replace or repair fans, motors, bearings, valves, controls, belts and associated equipment.
6. Maintain and service heat exchangers, pressure controls, safety valves and automatic gas valves.
7. Undertake additional building services maintenance, including fabric, HVAC and mechanical tasks as required.
8. Ensure all works comply with strict Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
9. Experience in air conditioning, refrigeration or HVAC building services maintenance, including fault finding, maintenance and installation.
10. Previous experience delivering reactive and PPM building services maintenance.
11. Experience working within FM or building services environments across commercial properties.
12. Proven adherence to Health & Safety procedures, including RAMS.
13. City & Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 equivalent.
14. NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in one of the following:
Commercial Refrigeration and AC Systems
Heating and Ventilation
Heating and Ventilation Service & Maintenance
15. IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
