As Internal Audit Assistant Manager, your influence will be key to cementing the reputation of our centre of excellence for best practice risk and controls advice. Key accountabilties:
Develop the annual audit risk assessment plan, working with senior management and Internal Audit Manager, aligning practice with the IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.
Own planning, fieldwork and reporting for a portfolio of risk-based audits (assurance and advisory), ensuring excellent quality, timeliness and impact.
Set scope and approach, based on risk assessment and professional judgement, ensuring coverage and prioritisation of key risks and controls.
Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of business processes, identifying areas of non-adherence to standards and areas for improvement versus best practice.
Ensure all key risks are identified and factored into the internal audit planning, with prioritisation and thoroughly tested.
Lead teams (internal and external co-source, Big 4 Accountancy firm), reviewing and approving work and conclusions.
Produce regular Status Documents and draft objective, independent Audit Reports that are clear and concise, using data, graphs and writing to communicate effectively. Provide innovative, value-added recommendations that resolve the audit observations having performed root cause analysis.
About you:
Knowledge of internal audit delivery practices, internal control frameworks and risk management.
Professional accounting/ auditing qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or a qualification pertaining to Institute of Internal Auditors IIA or audit).
Ideally degree or equivalent level education in a relevant field.
Strong knowledge with pre-qualification audit work experience, ideally at a high-tiered consultancy, or blue-chip company. Post-qualification experience desired.
Highly competent in Microsoft Office (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerApps).
Advanced Reporting writing and MS Excel skills necessary.
