About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker / Senior Practitioner to join our busy Children & Families MASH Team on a 3-month locum basis. You will play a key role in safeguarding children by assessing referrals, analysing multi-agency information, and supporting timely and effective decision-making at the front door of children’s services.
Key Responsibilities
* Screen and triage safeguarding referrals within the MASH in line with statutory guidance
* Analyse information from multiple partner agencies to assess risk and need
* Provide clear professional recommendations on next steps for children and families
* Work collaboratively with police, health, education, and other safeguarding partners
* Manage complex and high-risk cases requiring senior-level decision-making
* Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
* Contribute to safeguarding outcomes through effective information sharing and analysis
Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
* Significant post-qualifying experience in children’s safeguarding
* Strong understanding of MASH/front door processes
* Excellent risk assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
* Experience working in a fast-paced, multi‑agency environment
* Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
