Ashlea Court Care Home is looking to recruit a Head Chef.
Our care home is nestled in the urban yet accessible Ashgill. We offer Nursing, Residential, Dementia & Respite care for up to 86 residents.
As Head Chef, you will take responsibility for organising and controlling the efficient and economic production of quality food within the allowed budget, day to day kitchen management, whilst maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Head Chef Contract
£15.25 per hour
Contracted to 40-hours per week

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
Team player.
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work on own initiative
Desired
Experience of food preparation for the relevant Service User group.
Experience working in a care environment would be advantageous but not essential
Main Responsibilities
Prepare, cook, and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required.
Liaise with the Head Chef when planning menus to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods.
Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.
Ensure stock rotation.
Assist in the ordering of stocks and checking of deliveries, and check and value stocks as required by the Head Chef.
Ensure statutory Health & Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.
Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area and dining areas is carried out effectively.
