Salary: up to £37,059 per annum, plus company van & fuel card
Hours: 40 hours per week (8:30-5 Monday-Friday)
Position: Electrician
Location: Inverness
Mears Group, part of Apleona UK, is looking for a skilled and qualified electrician to join our team. This hands‑on, field‑based role involves maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems across six primary and academy schools. The successful candidate will help ensure schools are safe and compliant through reactive repairs, planned maintenance and refurbishment projects.
Responsibilities
* Responsive repairs to lighting circuits, sockets, fuseboards and other electrical systems
* Inspect and test electrical installations to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
* Replace or repair faulty components such as switches, outlets, light fittings and circuit breakers
* Work independently or as part of a team to meet daily repair targets
* Ensure work areas are left clean and safe after completing repairs
* Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
* Provide high levels of customer care at all times
* Respond to emergency call‑outs when required, including out of hours shifts if applicable
* Perform installation, service, repair and maintenance of a broad range of domestic properties
* Use relevant IT systems to manage and prioritise workload and complete repairs in a timely manner
Role Criteria
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations – including AM2
* City & Guilds 18th Edition (or 17th edition that can be upgraded)
* Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record; must be over 21, hold licence >3 months, and <9 points
* Inspection and Testing qualification 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395)
