Shortlisting Date: 28 May 2025 Interview Date: 4 June & 11 June 2025 Interview Type: Face to face Your Role The Business Support Officer will play a vital role in assisting with the completion of Statutory Checks for foster carers and childcare providers by collating necessary data and inputting it into relevant systems. This position involves initiating checks such as DBS, OFSTED, INTERNAL & EXTERNALS, liaising with social workers to ensure accurate information collection, and reporting any delays or errors. Additionally, the officer will support colleagues in the Reception area one day a week, handle fostering medical paperwork by coordinating with Stockport GPs and payment teams and manage the Statutory Checks Inbox to respond to queries. The role requires working positively and inclusively with colleagues and customers to maintain a non-discriminatory workplace, and adhering to Council policies and procedures, including standards of attendance, health, safety, welfare, customer care, emergency, evacuation, security, and promotion of the Council s priorities. About You The ideal candidate for the Business Support Officer role should possess a keen attention to detail to accurately collate and input data into relevant systems. Strong communication skills are essential for liaising with social workers, GPs, payment teams, and colleagues, as well as reporting any delays or errors effectively. Excellent organisational skills are required to manage multiple tasks, including supporting the Reception area, handling fostering medical paperwork, and managing the Statutory Checks Inbox. The candidate should be a team player, working positively and inclusively with colleagues to ensure a non-discriminatory workplace. Proficiency in IT systems used for initiating checks is necessary, along with problem-solving skills to address any issues that arise. A strong customer service orientation is important for providing support and responding to queries. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate a commitment to adhering to Council policies and procedures, maintaining high standards of attendance, health, safety, welfare, customer care, emergency, evacuation, security, and promoting the Council s priorities.
