We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated senior nurse to join our team as an Operational Matron in the Co‑ordination Centre. Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced, motivated and values‑driven operational leader. This senior nursing leadership role covers the operational running of the Trust and wider campus from a flow, safety and quality perspective, enabling the Trust to deliver high‑quality care through the ‘Getting it right first time’ approach and a focus on site safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct leadership to the Trust for patient flow and operational safety, working closely with multiple teams across the Trust.
* Work to continually improve the key Trust and national performance metrics together with internal and external partners.
* Maintain a highly visible, professional and authoritative presence that patients, carers and colleagues can turn to for advice and guidance, while prioritising safety as the ultimate priority.
Eligibility and Requirements
* Due to Home Office immigration rules, a full time permanent vacancy cannot be filled by individuals on a Student visa unless they have applied for a Graduate visa or have successfully completed their course and applied for a Graduate visa before the anticipated start date of employment.
* For NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough based roles, all applicants who have identified that they are at risk of redundancy will be prioritised over those not at risk (interviews cannot be guaranteed).
Benefits to you
* On‑site leisure facilities, shopping concourse and day nurseries.
* Reduced cost Stagecoach bus travel to and from Cambridge University Hospital sites, free park and ride bus journeys between Babraham Road and Trumpington sites, and subsidised parking on site for eligible staff.
* Hot food available 24/7 on the campus at a reduced cost, and a staff pod break space in the Deakin Centre with free tea and coffee.
* Flexible work arrangements, including part‑time working, job‑share, term‑time working and flexible start and finish times.
* Career and development opportunities, including preceptorship and mentoring programmes, and research experience and opportunities.
* Access to excellent schools, colleges and transport links (road, rail and air).
* Support for good work‑life balance irrespective of role or personal circumstances.
