This role also offers all shifts (Early, Late & Nights).
Carrying out and coordinating routine maintenance & repairs in line with the grade and current maintenance plan requirements as directed by their Production Leader.
You will be responsible for …
* Vehicle preparation
* Fabrication & Assembly
* Assembly
* Quality control
* Comply with safety systems and procedures at all times.
* Update maintenance records within company systems.
* Carry out non-maintenance related activities (e.g., Crane, Forklift etc.) as directed by your Production Leader and where competent to do so.
* Carry out all other duties where trained and competent to do so.
What we want from you…
* Must be able to achieve ASE2 vehicle builder competency.
* A minimum of two and a half years of relevant engineering experience inclusive of training.
* Reasonable understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles including interpreting technical drawings and plans.
* Be able to meet the requirements of a job-specific medical.
* Able to meet the competency requirements for safety and task specific training.
* Familiar with (or able, with training, to become familiar with) rolling stock maintained or repaired by GTR.
* Be willing learn new skills appropriate to the role.
* Proficiency in carpentry, joinery and metalwork.
* Positive and professional attitude with good working relationships.
