Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a Full Time, Permanent basis. You will manage the day to day running of the Gerrards Cross store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. You will help raise funds for the services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.
Location: 62 Packhorse Rd, Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire, England
Working pattern: The store is open 7 days a week; the post holder will work on a rota basis including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operations of the store and lead a team to achieve sales and KPI targets.
* Ensure stock is generated over the door by donors and upholds Gift Aid sign-up.
* Maintain a high standard of customer service and store presentation (windows and interior).
* Implement promotions as directed by Head Office or Area Business Manager.
* Ensure adequate stock on the shop floor for all key lines.
* Provide training, development, and performance reviews for paid staff; create an organized and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
* Actively recruit volunteers to support store objectives and KPIs.
* Adhere to financial, cash handling, and security procedures as per Barnardo's policies.
* Hold and secure shop keys when unattended.
Requirements
* Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
* Experience of managing people and liaising with a diverse range of individuals.
* Ability to meet customer needs face-to-face to generate sales.
* Financial literacy: ability to perform basic arithmetic to maintain budgets and weekly income/banking sheets.
* Ability to handle cash and reconcile accurately.
* Proven experience of meeting targets and KPIs.
* Basic IT skills.
