Cover Supervisor
Location: Bournemouth, Hampshire
Hours: (8:30am - 3:30pm)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
As a Cover Supervisor, you will provide vital support to our teaching staff by supervising lessons across various subject areas in the absence of the class teacher. Your role is essential in maintaining a productive learning environment and ensuring students stay engaged and on task.
Key Responsibilities of a Cover supervisor:
1. Supervise and support students during lessons and activities.
2. Implement pre-prepared lesson plans while adapting to students’ individual needs.
3. Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
4. Manage student behaviour effectively and positively.
5. Build strong relationships with students to promote engagement and motivation.
6. Collaborate with teaching staff to support students' educational and emotional needs.
7. Assist in the planning and delivery of interventions tailored to SEMH needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
8. Previous experience working with primary/secondary students, ideally in a school or alternative provision setting.
9. Strong understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies to support students.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
11. Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
12. A relevant qualification in education, youth work, or psychology is desirable but not essential.
