Registered Nurse – Dementia & Delirium Ward
Join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Registered Nurse on ward 37, a specialist dementia and delirium ward. This fixed‑term, 11‑month, part‑time role supports patients with complex emotional and physical needs.
Key responsibilities:
* Deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care in line with Trust policies.
* Provide safe and clean working environment.
* Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity and intra‑ocular pressure following training.
* Support eye‑emergency care during day and overnight on‑call shifts.
* Plan, implement and evaluate nursing care; maintain accurate written records.
* Communicate effectively with patients, carers and the wider team.
* Promote positive relationships across all staff involved in patient care.
* Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct and Trust values.
* Volunteer on other wards or departments as required.
* Adhere to infection‑control policies.
Essential qualifications:
* Registered Nurse (Level 1 or 2).
Current UK professional registration.
* For overseas nurses: validated OSCE and IELTS/OET certificates.
Desirable:
* Willingness to undergo necessary training.
* Capability of lateral thinking.
Required skills and knowledge:
* Organise and prioritise workload.
* Work effectively as part of a team.

Salary: £31,049 – £37,796 a year pro‑rata (band 5).
Contract: Fixed‑term, 11 months, part‑time.
