Band 5 Project Support Officer – Unscheduled Care Improvement Programme

We’re delighted to offer a 12 month secondment opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to join our Unscheduled Care Improvement Programme. As a Project Support Officer, you will play a key role in helping deliver improvements across integrated health and social care pathways, supporting innovation and enabling positive change across NHS Grampian

Unscheduled care is where patients and families often experience the greatest pressure and variation across the system. By supporting key improvement projects, you’ll contribute to work that helps people access the right care, in the right place, first time — improving outcomes and experiences for communities across Grampian.

What you’ll do

As Project Support Officer, you will work closely with Programme Managers, Senior Project Managers, clinical teams and operational colleagues to provide high‑quality project and administrative support. Your responsibilities will include:

* Assisting in the coordination and delivery of improvement projects within the Unscheduled Care Programme.
* Supporting project planning, scheduling, documentation, note‑taking, and the production of high‑quality reports.
* Organising workshops, meetings, and engagement sessions with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Supporting data collection, tracking, and monitoring of project progress, risks, issues and benefits.
* Assisting with the preparation of presentations, dashboards, and communication materials.
* Helping to maintain strong working relationships across clinical, operational and partner organisations.
* Supporting the Programme Team in embedding sustainable change and sharing learning across the system.

About you

You will bring strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, along with an interest in service improvement and collaborative working. You can demonstrate:

* Experience in providing project, administrative or coordination support in a busy environment.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, with confidence preparing reports and minutes.
* Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, using initiative and problem‑solving skills.
* Confidence using Microsoft Office tools, with an interest in developing digital or analytical skills.

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
