Casual Mechanic
We’re looking for a Casual Mechanic to join our team at the Motor Circuit. This is a truly unique opportunity to work with a fleet of classic 1950s and 60s Saloons and GTs, including Jaguar, BMW, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, MG, Ford and Austin, as well as a large collection of Series 2a Land Rovers used for customer experience days.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining, safety checking and preparing all circuit vehicles to ensure they’re ready for a fun and safe day on the Goodwood Racetrack. You’ll carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance, log accurate vehicle records, and support stock control.

What you’ll do:
1. Inspect and assess vehicles to identify wear and tear
2. Diagnose and resolve faults on cars
3. Carry out routine maintenance and repair, including MOT preparation
4. Restore, repair and replace components
5. Tune engines for optimum performance
6. Fit up restoration cars
7. Work on electrical and mechanical systems
8. Support other Technicians in the workshop
9. Record work carried out and parts used clearly and accurately
10. Assess vehicles for future improvements
11. Rebuild engines and gearboxes (desirable but not essential)
12. Follow up on corrective actions and implement countermeasures to reduce fault recurrence

17. Minimum Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair NVQ or equivalent
18. At least 5 years’ experience working with classic cars
19. Full UK driving licence
