Job Description
This is a Direct Tax role within the EMEA Tax & Financial Accounting team. The Tax & Financial Accounting team is responsible for the preparation and filing of indirect and direct tax filings, statutory account filings and treasury back-office functions. This role is expected to assume some of the following key responsibilities:
1. Preparation and review of allocated Corporation Tax returns (UK and overseas).
2. Ensure overseas Corporate Tax compliance obligations are met, such as meeting filing and payment deadlines.
3. Review of balance sheet tax related reconciliations by set deadlines.
4. Assist in the tax provisioning process and provide support to accounting teams in the completion of year-end, interim and month end tax accounting and reporting, including work for Group Tax.
5. Assist with the preparation & finalisation of draft tax disclosures in UK statutory financial statements.
6. Monitor postings made to tax accounts and ensuring all journals are supported by appropriate documentation and correctly posted.
7. Providing WHT guidance including approvals of write offs.
8. Maintain accurate working papers and documentation in accordance with department policy.
9. Liaise with tax advisors, both overseas and UK, as required.
10. Assist in addressing Tax authority queries in a timely and efficient manner.
11. Assist with relevant project work (eg. acquisitions, disposals, restructuring etc)
12. Assist with the provision of information for audit queries.
13. Provision of accurate and timely financial information to key business partners, external stakeholders and Group functions.
14. Assist with non-routine ad hoc tax matters as required.
15. Assist and train T&FA Accountants where required.
People management

17. Motivate team to ensure performance metrics are hit.
18. Support communication structures across the team to ensure all key messages are communicated.
19. Support Managers within the T&FA team to develop a plan for cross-training, working shadowing and rotation of responsibilities within team.
20. Provides coaching on both soft and technical skills within the team.
21. Act as a role model to others
22. Team admin duties such as absence management, holiday authorisations, timesheet approvals, appraisals etc
The role will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of service delivery in line with agreed timelines whilst ensuring that all company policies are adhered to. The ability to communicate well and build relationships will be key for this role, as well as being able to grasp the structure of the organization and how we operate. You will work closely with the business partners to understand their individual requirements.

Qualifications
23. Qualified (CTA, ACA, or ACCA preferred).
24. At least 4 years of relevant Tax experience.
25. Excellent communication skills at all levels, including a wide range of stakeholders within the business.
26. Ability to work in, embrace, and adapt to a fast-paced changing environment.
27. Desire to improve processes & systems.
28. Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines and problem-solve within tight timelines.
29. Pro-active with the ability to take initiative and encourage teams to do the same.
30. Ability to be self-sufficient as well as work in a team environment.
31. Act with integrity by taking ownership and responsibility.
32. Highly organized, diligent with attention to detail.
33. Strong presentation skills.
34. Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook are essential.
35. Knowledge of Alphatax, SAP, and Oracle system preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
36. Experience in people management preferable
