* The primary purpose of this post is to monitor and manage the on-site construction of built asset projects for the Trust.
* Ensuring that the design and construction phases of projects progress in accordance with Health Technical Memorandum (HTM) and Health Building Notice (HBN) guidance.
* There may be a requirement to challenge, review and support the design process and HTM and HBN compliance, whilst also maintaining a key line of communication with the relevant section of Estates (Operational or Strategic Team depending on the project).
* The role will act as a key interface between the Strategic Estates Team and the Operational Estates Team, to ensure the design elements and construction phase of each project is well coordinated, and built to the standards specified by the Trust. The testing, witnessing, permitting and commissioning of all mechanical and electrical systems will be overseen and authorised by the post holder.
* Interpret the requirements of the HTM and HBN (training can be given on HTM and HBN) and relate them to the project specifications.
* Minimum degree level (or equivalent) qualification in a building services, M&E.
* Ideally Institute of Clerk of Works registered.
* Previous experience of working as a clerk of works or site inspector type role within a Hospital environment.
