Reporting into the HR Business Partner, you will play an integral part in helping build out our HR offering in a fast-growing company during an exciting transition. This role collaborates with Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and HR Operations to provide solutions-focused advice and support, as well as contribute to key projects.
Your primary stakeholder group will be our UK Retail business, which has made 14 acquisitions over recent years and recently unified under one legal entity as part of our 'One Acrisure' initiative. The role requires regular travel across the UK to different offices.
Success in this role depends on developing a thorough understanding of the business through close collaboration and relationship-building.
How you'll contribute:
The purpose of this role is to partner with managers and employees, providing professional advice on various HR matters. This includes delivering commercially focused people solutions aligned with company policies, employment law, and HR best practices. Responsibilities include:
* Employee relations – Supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle, managing ER matters such as flexible working requests, performance management, employee absences, and informal challenges.
* Applying employment legislation and company policy pragmatically to educate managers and mitigate litigation risks.
* Facilitating local HR processes; interpreting benefits, policies, and contractual terms.
* Collaborating with Senior HR Advisors on policy drafting and review.
* Promoting and implementing new HR initiatives and changes.
* Analyzing HR data (e.g., exit interviews, sickness reports) to identify areas for improvement.
* Supporting the implementation of the new HRIS (Workday) and self-service platform for transactional HR activities.
* Participating in HR projects and initiatives; undertaking other relevant activities as needed.
Requirements:
We seek someone proactive, capable of managing their tasks independently, yet confident in collaborating and communicating with senior managers, external advisors, and employees. You will be encouraged to identify opportunities for process improvement and ensure HR compliance and upskilling across the organization.
Ideal candidates will have:
* Previous HR experience as a generalist
* Good understanding of employment legislation
* Experience advising on and managing the employee lifecycle
* Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build effective relationships
* Part or full CIPD qualification is desirable
* Experience in financial services or regulated environments is a plus
Interview process includes a MS Teams call with Talent Acquisition, a first-stage Teams interview with the HR team, and a second in-person interview with the Hiring Manager and senior management.
