This is an excellent opportunity to join our Respiratory Service on Ward 20, Enhanced High Care Unit at Royal Preston Hospital; we currently have a vacancy for a band 6 senior nurse.
You must be highly motivated with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills and be able to work within a multidisciplinary team setting.
Ideally, you should have current relevant post-registration experience working within the respiratory specialty. You’ll lead from the front and be an excellent role model for the team, ensuring the ward is well-led, whilst developing key leadership skills that will benefit your career development.

Main duties of the job
You will support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse or Matron in ensuring excellent, compassionate care for patients, relatives, and visitors.
You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care, in line with the Trust’s values and professional framework.
You will provide strong leadership and direction, monitor standards of care, and support professional practice.
You will act as a role model, providing development, supervision, and advice to staff and students, and engaging in research and development for the service.
Your role will ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment.

Qualifications & Education
* Appropriate NMC Registration
* Diploma or Degree in Nursing
* Evidence of CPD in specialty
* Post-registration qualification in specialty
* NMC Mentorship qualification or mentoring experience
Knowledge & Experience
* Leadership experience and learning
* Knowledge of recent nursing advances
* Understanding of Clinical Governance and safeguarding
* Experience in implementing improvements
* Knowledge of ethical issues
* Clinical competence in a specialty area
