Senior Quantity Surveyor — STRABAG

Responsibilities
* Prepare internal commercial reporting and contribute to monthly project reviews and other required reports.
* Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract; prepare cost reports to the client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
* Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules; prepare and issue sub-contract and consultant appointments in line with the programme and procurement schedule.
* Liaise with Design Manager and Project Manager regarding design aspects, cost impacts, and value engineering.
* Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of payments to final accounts.
* Manage contract administration, including change management, contractual notices, and documentation; maintain associated registers.
* Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering, and change; challenge and manage cost control/cost mitigation.
* Ensure accurate site records, implement a WBS structure to satisfy client and contract requirements, and conduct regular risk and opportunity workshops with the project team.
* Prepare, negotiate, and agree change events, extension of time claims, and final accounts.
* Measure quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement as required.
* Engage in client management and manage insurance-related issues and contractual insurance requirements; prompt notification of potential claims.
* Maximise cash position, including WIP control and cash flow improvement plans; monitor out-turn cost and value and provide monthly forecasts.
* Input into margin improvement plans and maintain real-time project data; ensure timely procurement of PCG, bonds, and warranties as required by the contract.
* Manage subcontractor and supplier disputes and assist in the management of client disputes.
* Assist in work-winning duties as required, including technical writing for PQQ responses; undertake other work as required by line manager.
Qualifications
* Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards Chartership.
* Degree qualified or HNC equivalent.
* Commercially astute with excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract and Standard Methods of Measurement.
* Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint).
* Experience with a Design and Build Building Contractor.
* Good communication skills including presentations with the ability to negotiate and persuade.
* Programming techniques, project controls, risk analysis, contract admin, procurement, cost, and claims.
