This will be a full-time, substantive post (10 Programmed Activities).
Position
We are seeking a GIM physician looking for a new challenge, working as part of a team on a 24 bedded GIM ward. Those with sub-specialty training will be encouraged to apply. The trust is committed to negotiating a suitable relocation package and we can discuss your individual needs on application. We are looking for an enthusiastic physician to join the GIM Team at Furness General Hospital.
Responsibilities
* The post holder would be expected to share in the duties of the care of 24 patients on our GIM ward.
* This is a full time (10PA) post incorporating personal SPA time and an opportunity to work with a specialist team should the chosen clinician have a specific interest in a speciality.
* There will be an expectation to cover an on-call 1-11 rota which attracts a further 1PA and 3% supplement to the right candidate.

UHMB has a keen interest and extensive involvement in Medical and Dental Education at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. We work in partnership with Health Education England North West (HEENW), the General Medical Council (GMC) and our local medical schools, to provide quality education and training which meets the requirements of these regulatory bodies as well as the Trust’s high standards of patient care. UHMBT provide clinical placements for Medical Students from Lancaster Medical School and Medical Students and Student Physicians Associates from the University of Central Lancashire. We also provide training for our doctors in training, specialty doctors and GP trainees as well as supporting the development of our consultant educators.
