A Little Bit More About Your Role
Representing WSP’s Asset and Quality Solutions (AQS) business group, you will act as the Electrical Technical Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for transformers and turbo‑generators, providing technical leadership, quality surveillance, and assurance to safeguard product conformity and ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements across a global portfolio.
Operating within a global ISO 17020 ’Type C’ Inspection Body, you will deliver services on an international footing, supporting projects across the Energy, Industrial, and Transportation sectors, and providing specialist expertise across the manufacture, testing, and lifecycle assurance of critical electrical equipment.
Core Responsibilities
* Act as the AQS Electrical Technical Manager and SME, specialising in transformers and turbo‑generators, providing technical leadership across projects and programmes on a global basis
* Undertake inspection and assurance activities during the manufacture and testing of transformers, generators, and associated electrical systems
* Perform supplier and process audits to verify compliance, capability, and adherence to contractual and industry requirements
* Review and support approval of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), manufacturing programmes, and factory acceptance procedures
* Ensure compliance with client requirements, specifications, and applicable standards
* Provide technical and engineering support to projects, AQS functions, and the wider WSP organisation
* Prepare technical review documentation in line with statutory requirements
* Review and approve technical procedures for inspection and testing
* Provide technical input to Project Managers
* Perform and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations
Additional Responsibilities
* Undertake quality surveillance inspections during peak operational activity
* Provide technical support to Bid Managers and Project Managers, including technical document preparation
* Support and mentor inspection personnel
* Carry out supplier capability audits
* Undertake competence assurance reviews of personnel and suppliers
* Review Inspection Body reports and provide improvement feedback
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Expertise in transformers and generators, including design, manufacture, and testing
* Experience of FAT and high‑voltage equipment testing
* Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and relevant electrical standards
* Experience in supplier audits and quality surveillance
* Understanding of ISO 17020 and ISO 9001
* Experience in RCA methodologies
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Willingness to travel internationally
