Overview
Care about our local area, annoyed by people dumping waste? We are looking for a multi-tasking Environmental Enforcement Officer to work in the Environmental Protection team. This role is mainly based outdoors, starting from and returning to the office base, using an office vehicle.
Responsibilities
* Officers will be expected to patrol areas of the city including parks and open spaces to gather evidence of environmental offences. Activities include observations of littering, fly tipping and dog control offences including the collection of stray dogs. Officers will be expected to interact directly with members of the public and take relevant enforcement action by issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices in person.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Officers will need to be confident in interacting with the public, have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail to record facts accurately and may be required on occasions to attend court and give evidence.
* You should have excellent investigative and communications skills and relevant experience in an enforcement-based role with good attention to detail. You must be physically fit, able to climb ladders and hold a full driving licence.
