Location: Solihull, West Midlands
Pay: £130 – £160 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Long-term with potential for permanent appointment

This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about pastoral care, thrives on building strong relationships, and is motivated by helping young people overcome challenges to reach their potential.

The Role
As a Head of Year, you’ll play a key pastoral leadership role within the school community, focusing on behaviour, attendance, wellbeing, and progress.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Monitoring and supporting the academic and personal development of all pupils in your year group
2. Leading on attendance, punctuality, and behaviour management
3. Delivering assemblies and pastoral interventions
4. Building positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
5. Working closely with the safeguarding and SEND teams to ensure every pupil receives the right support
6. Tracking progress and implementing strategies to raise achievement and engagement
You’ll act as the main point of contact for students and families, helping shape a school culture built on respect, inclusion, and ambition.
About You

7. Experience working with young people in education, youth work, or pastoral roles
8. Excellent communication, empathy, and organisational skills
9. Confidence managing behaviour and building trust with students
10. A genuine passion for supporting wellbeing and inclusion
11. The ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others
