Rota Support isa specialist supplier of permanent and temporarystaff to the adult health and social care sector and we work with many clients that provide support to adults with learning disabilities and mental health conditions, as well as providing care and nursing to the elderly, including the following;
Day centres
Nursing homes
Residential homes
Respite/ Short stay services
Supported housing and living services
We are searching for healthcare assistants who are able to commute and work in Bury St Edmunds at our clients, supporting them when they have gaps in their rota, which can be due to annual leave, maternity leave, sickness and permanent vacancies.
We work with a number of care/ nursing homes in the area and this position will include working at different homes on a 0 hours and ad-hoc basis. The work that we can provide to you will be on either a part time or full time basis and this is dependant on your availability. We are happy to offer additional work alongside a permanent position if necessary.
The duties and responsibilities of a healthcare assistant in a care/ nursing home can include the following; Assisting with daily hygiene routines, including bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Checking and recording vital signs such as temperature, respiration, pulse, and weight.
Helping residents move safely, including the use of lifting equipment and wheelchairs.
Preparing or serving meals, drinks, and snacks, and providing assistance with eating and drinking.
Providing companionship, chatting with residents, and assisting with activities, outings, and hobbies to promote mental wellbeing.
Making beds, keeping rooms tidy, and assisting with laundry or other light housekeeping duties.
Updating care plans and recording daily notes, ensuring accurate communication with family members and other professionals.

Communication: Effective verbal and written skills for interacting with residents, families, and staff.
Patience & Reliability: Ability to manage demanding situations calmly.
Teamwork: Working collaboratively with nurses and other care staff.
