To provide an efficient, effective and comprehensive administrative support for the department/area.
Responsibilities
* Dealing with telephone queries, checking and updating patient information with clinical staff, managers and patients.
* Communicating information verbally and in writing, providing routine information for patients and staff, for example discharge, admission, transfers and making appointments.
* Support nursing staff with the discharge processes.
* Organise own workload and manage tasks such as locating notes, patient appointment issues, accuracy of patient information, ward queries and escalating when necessary.
* Organises patient transportation, discharges, appointments and patient admissions.
* May be required to handle barriers to understanding for example anxious patients, relatives, cultural differences, and language or communication difficulties.
* IT system skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Adheres to Trust Values and contributes to a positive service culture.
About the Employer
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is an integrated Trust and the only provider of NHS acute care in Walsall, serving a population of 284,300. It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital as well as a wide range of services in the community. Walsall Manor houses the full range of district general hospital services under one roof.
