Salary: £12.21 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time
Temporary Hours: Monday to Thursday 05:45 - 13:15
Friday 05:45 - 12.45
Start date Monday 3rd Nov 2025
Overtime will be available
About the Role:
We are seeking reliable and hardworking Refuse Collectors to join our waste management team. This is a vital public service role that helps keep our communities clean, safe, and environmentally responsible.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect household, commercial, and recycling waste from designated routes
- Operate and load refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently
- Ensure bins are returned to correct locations after emptying
- Report any issues such as damaged bins, blocked access, or contamination
- Work closely with team members to complete daily collection schedules
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Provide courteous service to members of the public when required
Requirements:
- Good level of physical fitness (role involves heavy lifting and walking long distances)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Punctual, dependable, and team-oriented
- Willingness to follow instructions and safety protocols
- Previous experience in waste collection or manual labour is desirable but not essential
