Speech and Language Therapist
Location
Manor House School – West Sussex, RH13 0QX
Hours / Contract
37.5 hours per week, permanent (term‑time only). Full‑time contract may be discussed if needed.
Salary and Bonus
Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience) plus a £3,000 Welcome Bonus (paid £1,500 after one month and £1,500 after final probation).
Essential Qualifications
* Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered and registered with the RCSLT
* Previous experience working with individuals presenting complex and diverse communication profiles
* Knowledge of neurodiversity, trauma‑informed practice, and multi‑disciplinary working
* Experience communicating with families, relatives and carers
* Strong relationship‑building, analytical, judgmental and communication skills
* Good time‑management and organisational skills
* Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of SaLT assessment tools, intervention types and support plan formulation
* Understanding of relevant legislation and its implications for clinical practice
* Full driving licence and access to a car
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory, motor, and other differences impacting communication
* Evidence of understanding the relationship between arousal levels and communication
Core Responsibilities
* Hold a Speech and Language Therapy caseload
* Deliver bespoke assessment and intervention to pupils with developmental trauma, neurodivergence or SEMH needs
* Work collaboratively with the education team within the standards provided by OFG Speech and Language Therapy Ways of Working
* Support staff training and consultation as required
* Contribute to a person‑centred, empowering approach to pupil support
* Maintain safeguarding culture and ensure pupils are heard, respected and involved in decisions
