Position Summary
We are recruiting an HR Assistant to join our Human Resources team within the Power & Industrial (P&I) division at Cramlington, Northumberland. The role supports the HR Manager in delivering full‑cycle recruitment, onboarding, learning & development, employee relations, performance management and organisational culture initiatives.
Position Responsibilities
* Recruitment & Onboarding:
o Manage end-to-end recruitment – posting, screening, interview scheduling and reference checks.
o Facilitate smooth onboarding and induction for new hires.
o Maintain accurate recruitment and employee records within HR systems.
o Ensure compliance with internal and external data and HR regulations.
* Learning & Development:
o Coordinate training sessions, workshops and e‑learning activities.
o Track training records and reporting.
o Logistics and liaison with external training providers.
o Support evaluation of training effectiveness.
* Employee Relations:
o Assist with grievances, disciplinary processes and investigations.
o Maintain confidentiality and documentation of employee relations cases.
o Implement policies that promote a positive workplace.
o Respond to routine HR queries from staff.
* Performance & Capability:
o Support performance appraisal cycles, tracking probation and improvement plans.
o Create data and reports to inform people management decisions.
o Drive initiatives that build employee capability.
* Organisational Development & Culture:
o Organise engagement activities, surveys and recognition programmes.
o Support culture and change management initiatives.
o Contribute to communication materials promoting a people‑centred culture.
Person Specification
* Essential:
o CIPD Level 3 or equivalent professional HR qualification.
o Demonstrable experience in HR support roles, recruitment, performance management and employee relations.
o Proficiency with HRIS systems and strong knowledge of employment law.
o Computer‑skilled, confident in MS Office and HR ERP tools.
o Excellent communication, interpersonal and commercial skills.
o Licensed to work in the UK and hold a valid passport.
* Desirable:
o CIPD Level 5 or higher.
o Experience with SAP ERP.
o Degree or other recognised qualifications in HR/Business.
o Driving licence and additional languages (French / Spanish).
