The Opportunity
We're looking for a highly organised and detail-focused HR & Payroll Coordinator to join our People Team at our Thirsk headquarters. In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining colleague data accuracy, supporting monthly payroll, and delivering smooth People processes across the full colleague lifecycle.
Working closely with our Payroll Manager, People Partners, and wider business, you'll ensure compliant, efficient and accurate operations-while contributing to ongoing improvements within the function.
Previous experience using the Healthbox HR & Payroll system would be preferred, but not essential.

What You'll Be Doing
Payroll Support
* Support the Payroll Manager with preparing and processing monthly payrolls.
* Verify timesheets, overtime and approved leave.
* Maintain accurate payroll records and colleague data.
* Action payroll changes for starters, leavers and amendments.
* Respond to payroll queries, escalating where appropriate.
* Support report generation and time & attendance updates.
HR Support
* Support the full colleague lifecycle including onboarding, probation, contractual changes and offboarding.
* Maintain up-to-date colleague records within the HRIS.
* Prepare contracts, offer paperwork and onboarding documentation.
* Ensure Right-to-Work checks are completed compliantly.
* Coordinate with payroll on all new starter information.
* Maintain confidentiality and GDPR compliance at all times.
Benefits Administration
* Collate and process benefit updates (healthcare, pension, etc.).
* Communicate changes to providers and maintain accurate records.
* Regularly audit benefits data and track eligibility periods.
Compliance & Reporting
* Support internal audits with required documentation.
* Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies.
* Contribute to People projects and continuous improvement activity.
About You
You'll bring...
* Previous experience in a similar HR, payroll or People administration role.
* Strong attention to detail and excellent data accuracy.
* Experience using HRIS or payroll systems (Healthbox preferred).
* Confident communication and stakeholder skills.
* Strong organisational and multitasking ability.
* A proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
* Good IT skills, including intermediate Excel.
* Understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and compliance standards.
