Job Description:
We are on our way to achieving our goal to provide Outstanding support and care to children, families, carers and practitioners across Salford. We are investing in the right social workers to get us there and we are expanding our teams within our Child In Need and Child Protection Team (CPCIN).
The service currently consists of 6 sub-teams with 7 social workers, 2 advanced social workers, a team manager, and a service manager. In CPCIN, you will work with children subject to child in need plans, child protection plans, and those within pre-proceedings and care proceedings. If the court's decision is for the children to remain in our care, they will transfer to our Cared For team (Stepping Stones) or Next Steps care leaver service (aged 16 plus) for longer-term support.
We are resource-rich, supporting our workers with bespoke teams of family practitioners co-located with social work teams, dedicated business support, and pools for administrative tasks. We also have specialized services for Domestic Abuse, Edge of Care, and others, to support children and families effectively.
We value specialisms and champions in areas such as sexual harm, neglect, housing, NRPF, and domestic abuse. As a Level 2 or 3 social worker, you are encouraged to develop or bring your specialisms or practice championship.
In Salford, we value you as a person and as a practitioner or aspiring practitioner.
You will be responsible for:
* Building trusted relationships with people, ensuring their wishes, feelings, and beliefs are central to decision-making.
* Having meaningful conversations based on what matters most to them.
* Connecting people to wider networks of opportunity and support.
* Enhancing people's creative potential and self-esteem.
* Responding promptly to crises and supporting children and families until issues improve.
* Maintaining contact with children, young people, and families, and showing genuine interest in their wellbeing and needs.
* Being ambitious, curious, and eager to learn and reflect.
Our offer to you includes:
* Up to 34 days of holiday annually (plus bank holidays).
* Competitive salary following pay and grading review.
* Free parking.
* Hybrid working arrangements for flexibility.
* Training in the Family Partnership Model adopted by Salford.
* Recently refurbished office space at Unity House, Swinton.
* Rich resources to support your work with children and families.
* Robust training and mentoring schemes to support your career development.
* Regular, quality, reflective supervision from a consistent management team.
