Leads the design, delivery, and management of People Risk and Governance frameworks and initiatives. Supports the Head of People Risk and Governance in overseeing the team's workstreams and developing impactful solutions. Demonstrates senior-level expertise in risk and governance (, employee data protection, internal fraud, employee mobility, risk management). Manages and mentors members
Key Activities:
1. Learning and Development – Design, implement, and monitor initiatives to enhance team competencies, foster career progression, and support succession planning.
2. Team Planning – Design and coordinate team activities via use of tools like MS Planner and agile-style meetings. Ensure timely task delivery, appropriate resource allocation, and clear reporting to the Head.
3. Risk Management Framework – Develop, implement, and monitor a framework to identify and mitigate people-related risks, aligning with EUI and Group standards.
4. Risk Assessments – Provide technical expertise in risk assessments and translate results into actionable insights for HR professionals, Senior Management, and other key stakeholders.
5. Risk Events – Oversee and report on risk events in the People function, providing advice and ensuring effective remediation and accountability.
6. Consultancy – Lead partnerships with People teams and wider risk and governance functions, providing governance input and managing initiatives to raise awareness of people-related risk.
7. Project Support – Assist the Head in major projects, to assess how these impact on people risk and support in delivery of required change.
8. Reporting - Support the Head in team reporting requirements, including compilation of briefing packs, risk reports, and committee papers for senior stakeholders.
9. Internal Controls – Design, coordinate, and report on the People function’s control environment, including risk registers and adherence to the Group control framework ( lead on control testing plans).
10. Policies – Ensure People policies align with Group and EUI frameworks, providing oversight and support in People policy activities, such as Conflict of Interest (COI), Financial Crime (internal fraud), and Whistleblowing.
11. Change Management – Design and support people-related change initiatives to enhance the People function’s risk profile.
12. External Scanning - Strategically monitor for emerging risks and industry developments through horizon scanning, communicating insights stakeholders and implementing necessary action.
13. Continuous Improvement - Develop strategies to enhance understanding and engagement with key People risk and governance activities, driving continuous improvement and championing a proactive risk culture.
14. Coaching and Line Management – Mentor, coach, and provide performance management to team members as needed.
Key Skills
15. Senior-level technical expertise in risk and governance, including experience with risk management frameworks and a strong risk-based mindset.
16. In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory landscape for managing people risk.
17. Skilled in providing constructive challenges and key risk insights to the business and senior stakeholders.
18. Excellent change management and stakeholder engagement skills.
19. Strong proficiency with using data to assess, monitor, and report on risk (data-driven mindset).
20. Expertise in team workforce planning and managing resources to deliver results.
21. Proven experience in senior-level risk, compliance, or governance roles, ideally within both Line and Line capacities.
