of the Treatment Works Team, the Mechanical Technician will;
- Contribute to the Mechanical Maintenance team’s daily operations to maximise plant performance, reliability, and availability.
- Deliver project work involving mechanical installation, equipment alignment, and other tasks aligned with the core purpose of the role.
- Maintain and promote safe working practices at all times, supporting engineering, compliance, and production activities in line with the Daldowie Business Plan and its operational targets.
- Uphold and continuously improve high standards of mechanical engineering performance to ensure optimal plant effectiveness and availability.
- Assist the Lead Mechanical Engineer by undertaking project activities related to maintenance compliance, engineering projects, and equipment specification and procurement.
- Support compliance with IPPC Permit requirements by maintaining plant and equipment to agreed standards and contribute to the upkeep of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001:2000 environmental and quality management systems.
Hold a City & Guilds or HNC qualification in an engineering or science discipline or possess equivalent vocational training and experience.
- Bring proven experience in a maintenance role, ideally within the water industry, thermal drying operations, or other process‑based industrial environments.
- Demonstrate strong competence in maintenance engineering activities related to wastewater treatment, thermal drying technology, or continuous process/manufacturing operations.
- Maintain a strong track record of adhering to safety, environmental, production, and maintenance procedures within an integrated management system.
- Show self‑motivation and a flexible approach to work, with a willingness to undertake a broad range of tasks as required.
- Consistently deliver high‑quality results, adapt effectively to change, and proactively seek opportunities to improve performance.
