Description
The job itself
Hello!
I am a 13-year-old young lady with a great sense of humour. My family are looking to recruit a support worker to help me with my independence when accessing the community.
I love to take part in activities such as swimming, dancing and having fun!
I absolutely adore animals, especially rabbits, dogs and guinea pigs. I really like to hold small animals and take care of them.
I have two cats at home.
I also really like to go horse riding.
I enjoy music and singing even though sometimes I am not confident and need encouragement.
When I am at home enjoy baking or I like to watch you tube and play on Roblox!
I struggle with social anxiety and can find some environments over whelming; I need a lot of encouragement to try new things like activities or making friends.
My moods can switch quite quickly if I get anxious, sometimes if I am hungry, I can get quite fatigued, so I need support making sure I have energy and to help keep me calm and reassured.
I might need some help after swimming with passing me things to support with dressing and just to check I am safe and do not fall on a slippy floor.
I can be quite wobbly so I need someone to help me get around, that could be just letting me hold your arm or encouraging me to use my crutches or wheelchair.
I do not like to feel rushed, so help me plan my time so we have lots of time before we go out and time when we get home to wind down.
If I feel worried or anxious sometimes, I can get angry, so I need help calming down.
I can be very shy and reserved in new places or with new people so it is great if you can help me by introducing me to people and giving me some ideas of what to do.
I need an engaging, motivated support worker who likes the things I like and who can be a friend to me and help me engage in the community. I need constant supervision when we are out and about, as I do not have adequate danger awareness and balance is not great.
I would like my support worker to help me gain confidence and reassure me when meeting new people getting involved in groups and taking part in activities. I would like to try some new things if you wanted to come with me, like yoga, dance and singing!
I love to have a laugh, listen to music (anything Disney, K-pop or Taylor Swift!) and have fun.
I like to send time with friends and am very loyal. I enjoy spending time with my family and peers.
I have a dislike to noisy busy spaces as this can make me feel overwhelmed, tasks that I think are too difficult for me can make me anxious, meaning sometimes I will not try.
