EHS (Environmental, Health, & Safety) Coordinator Location: Lake Wales, FL Position: Full-Time | Shift: Day Shift Department: Engineering Reports To: EHS Manager Pay: Salaried Summary: The EHS coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining safety and environmental programs at our manufacturing facilities. This role promotes employee safety and environmental protection by putting people first while ensuring compliance with all workplace policies, practices, and regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in and commitment to fostering a culture of safety and environmental excellence in a manufacturing or industrial setting. The EHS Coordinator will champion environmental health and safety excellence across the supply chain organization by leading employees on how their behaviors and actions connect to our strategic vison and create long term value. This role will report directly to the EHS Manager, with a strong relationship across supply chain operational leaders. Responsibilities: Promote a culture of safety through continuous communication, recognition programs, and employee involvement initiatives. Coordinate and lead safety team meetings, ensuring active participation in creating a safe workplace. Implement, monitor, and coordinate safety policies and procedures to ensure workplace safety culture and compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies. Perform routine safety inspections and audits of the manufacturing facility, identifying and addressing potential hazards. Must be an active participant and help lead the IRT (Incident Response Team). Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first-aid protocols. Coordinate and conduct emergency drills to ensure readiness and compliance with safety regulations. Address safety concerns raised by employees and provide guidance on safe work practices. Conduct regular safety training sessions for employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing education on safety practices. Provide specialized training for high-risk tasks, such as handling hazardous materials, operating heavy machinery, and emergency response. Ensure all safety equipment is operational and properly used by employees. Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions. Prepare detailed incident reports and communicate findings to management and relevant stakeholders. Stay up-to-date with OSHA and other regulatory agencies' safety standards and ensure the facility’s compliance. Prepare and maintain all safety documentation required by regulatory agencies and internal/external audits. Support site security efforts by collaborating with facilities and operations teams to maintain a secure working environment. Assist in the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures including access control, and vendor management protocols. Conduct periodic security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements. Serve as the liaison with external security providers, and local emergency response agencies as needed. Requirements Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Four (4) years’ experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral skills. The ability to train and engage employees at all levels. Proficiency in using safety technology, applications, and tools. Proficiency with MS Office Suite. Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking, standing, and climbing, to conduct safety inspections. Capability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature changes. Some travel may be required for training or to support other facilities. Preferred: Experience with Process Safety Management in a facility with Anhydrous Ammonia Experience coordinating security efforts at a manufacturing facility
