We are looking for a Quality Lead who will be responsible for day-to-day implementation of the QMS and supporting the shopfloor with problem solving to resolve customer concerns, management of quality of supplied goods (materials and services), controlling and supporting inspections of supplied goods, and ensuring permanent change actions are established when non-conforming goods are identified.
You will make a difference by:
1. Being accountable for ensuring our end customer requirements are understood and continuous improvement plans are in place to maximise opportunities for cost reduction, improved quality, and efficiency.
2. Investigate, define root cause, and determine CAPAs for instances of non-conformance. Support other business functions with problem solving experience.
3. Developing and executing supplier audit programme to meet business targets, incorporating risk-based thinking.
4. Ensuring inspection criteria and adequate verification techniques are communicated to supplier.
5. Review of quality documentation (inspection plans, certificates of conformance, first article inspections etc.).
6. Engage Materials and central Quality Assurance teams for approval of suppliers and supplied materials.
7. Reporting of quality defects through the designated systems, ensuring they are sufficiently identified and recorded.
Your success is grounded in:
8. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a quality engineer/supplier quality assurance role.
9. Qualification in an Engineering, Quality, or Supply Chain subject.
10. Experience working within/developing a ISO9001 management system.
11. Good knowledge of IT systems/software.
12. Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
13. Strong organisation/planning skills, self-motivated.
14. Clean driving license, willingness to travel as required.
It would be advantageous to have:
15. Experience in highly regulated industries (automotive – IATF, aerospace – AS9100, medical) and knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
16. Technical knowledge of Rolling Stock maintenance / overhaul procedures and practices.
17. Good understanding of Rail Industry requirements and practices and health, safety and environment legislation/procedures.
18. Basic understanding of project management principles.
19. Contract/Commercial knowledge.
