Summary
The Play Area Design Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design and costing activities undertaken as part of servicing predominantly local authority tendered opportunities. This individual will lead a team of talented designers and 3D visualisers, ensuring the successful delivery of fully costed, high-quality 2D and 3D visual presentations. The successful candidate will also provide commercial support to the Team and oversee all design standards that are/or will become outputs of the design department.
Responsibilities
* Workload Management: Efficiently manage the workload of the design team to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery. Assess and allocate projects to designers based on their expertise and workload capacity. Actively communicate with all adjacent departments to fully understand the project requirements to enable effective use of the team resource.
* Design Coordination: Coordinate and oversee the design process from initial concept to completion, ensuring all design requirements are met within agreed timelines and budgetary constraints.
* Design Standards: All designs must meet industry specific standards, the role holder will be responsible for ensuring these standards are being met whilst maximizing the play value potential. Training provided.
* Team Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and supervision to the team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to team members;
* Performance: To produce weekly and monthly reports on established KPI's to be used for Management and Director level meetings.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a similar industry. Preferably supported by a recognized management / leadership qualification.
* IT literate with proven experience of using all Microsoft Office packages especially Excel. Although not essential AutoCAD.
* Strong background in working collaboratively to deliver common goals.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* Commercial awareness and understanding of project budgets and financial implications
* Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
