Job Specification: Dispatch Operative (Temp to Perm)
Location: Wilmslow
Hours: 5 out of 7 days per week on a rota - Monday to Saturday 08:30 - 16:30 and Sunday 08:00 - 16:00
Hourly Rate: £12.21ph to £13.50ph (dependant on experience)
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hard‑working Dispatch Operative to join a fast‑paced warehouse and retail environment. This temp‑to‑perm role involves picking, packing, and processing customer orders, handling returns, and ensuring all outgoing goods meet quality standards.
An interest in fitness, running, or sports is advantageous due to the nature of the products.
Key Responsibilities
Order Picking & Packing
Pick customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Pack items securely to ensure safe delivery.
Prepare orders for courier collection and dispatch.Order Processing
Print and process orders from the internal system.
Ensure all paperwork and system updates are completed accurately.Quality Assurance
Perform quality checks on all outgoing orders.
Ensure correct products, quantities, and standards are met.
Report any issues, damage, or discrepancies promptly.Returns Handling
Process and log customer returns following company procedures.
Inspect returned goods and record condition and reason.
Update systems accurately.Retail Store Support
Assist in the retail store when required.
Serve customers on the shop floor, providing friendly and helpful service.
Support stock replenishment and store presentation when needed.General Warehouse Duties
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
Follow manual handling and health & safety procedures.
Assist the team with wider warehouse activities as needed.Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience in picking, packing, despatch, or warehouse operations.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work to pace while maintaining high standards.
Basic IT skills (printing orders, updating systems).
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to support the retail store and serve customers when required.Desirable:
Experience handling online order systems or courier portals.
Previous experience processing returns.
Interest in fitness, running, or sports products.Personal Attributes

Friendly and confident when interacting with customers.
