Job title: Primary Care Clinical Lead
Location: HMP Garth, Leyland, Lancashire
We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care Team at HMP Garth. The prison has a capacity of around 800 males and is a Category B facility.
Hours and Salary
* 37.5 hours per week
* Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (potential weekend work as required in the future)
Salary: Permanent role with an annual salary up to £49,848 – £55,996 depending on experience.
What you’ll do
* Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
* Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
* Work with partners to maintain a robust, high-quality clinical service for patients; ensure clinical practice aligns with autonomous practice within the role.
* Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
* Coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute to audits and governance; contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non-clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
* Chair and facilitate healthcare meetings with the team and partners; provide clinical supervision (training available) and conduct investigations locally and for the wider region.
Qualifications and experience
* Registered Nurse Adult with current professional qualification (NMC)
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Understanding of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
* Non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship
Desirable: experience in hospital, community or prison environments is advantageous though not essential.
