JOB PURPOSE
The Recruiting Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, attracting, and securing top talent to support organizational growth and succession planning in alignment with evolving business needs. This role requires a collaborative and resourceful professional with a strategic mindset. The Recruiting Specialist will identify and engage talented candidates who excel in the field and will positively contribute to our workplace culture, ensuring we secure the best candidates in a competitive marketplace.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Promote safety, quality, efficiency, and organizational core values in all recruitment activities.
* Partner with business leaders, HR partners, and hiring managers to identify current and future talent needs and develop both short and long-term recruitment strategies.
* Design and execute recruiting or talent acquisition initiatives to attract, engage, and hire highly skilled candidates across the company and within multiple construction sectors.
* Manage full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, coordinating with hiring teams, and ensuring a positive candidate experience.
* Build and maintain strong talent pipelines through networking, referrals, direct sourcing, posting strategies, and partnerships with recruiting firms.
* Coordinate and schedule interviews, serving as the main point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process.
* Track, analyze, and report recruiting metrics and talent pipeline activity on a bi-weekly basis.
* Ensure compliance with HR policies, company standards, and employment regulations.
* Collaborate with HR to deliver a seamless onboarding process, including HRIS updates, documentation, and compliance requirements.
* Represent the company at career fairs, community recruiting events, and other employer branding activities to enhance visibility and promote company culture.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Education
o Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
o SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certifications a plus
* Experience
o Minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources.
o At least 5 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience.
o Proven experience recruiting for mid-to senior-level roles.
o Knowledge of the civil construction industry is a plus.
* Requirements/Competencies
o In-depth knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
o Ability to assess and screen for construction roles, including both technical and managerial qualifications.
o Building talent pipelines for critical positions and understanding succession planning within the organization.
o Proficiency in leveraging professional and social platforms to support talent selection.
o Strong business acumen with the ability to recommend and implement practical talent solutions.
o Agile and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
o Excellent presentation, project management, written, and verbal communication skills.
o High level of integrity with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
o Skilled in data analysis to guide strategic workforce and employment planning.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
o Strong ethics and principled decision-making, with the ability to act confidently and quickly on informed choices.
o Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate solutions, and implement improvements.
o Strong interpersonal skills, treating others with courtesy, respect, and sensitivity.
o Ability to build and sustain productive working relationships internally and externally.
* Valid Driver’s License Required
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and the work week for employees is normally considered 40 hours Monday through Friday. Flexibility is required to support time-sensitive issues as they arise. However, greater emphasis is placed on meeting the responsibilities assigned to this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The majority of the work is performed in a non-smoking office. The work primarily takes place indoors. However, there may be outdoor fieldwork and travel, which could be a significant part of the role. Depending on the project, department, or business demands, overnight stays may be expected.
