Multi-Trade Operative
Location: Exeter, covering sites across the South West
Salary: £34,376 - £36,185 per year
Hours: 40 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team, covering different sites across the South West. The work is predominantly in domestic properties and includes carpentry, plumbing, installing doors/windows, plastering, tiling, fencing, and general maintenance. A company van and power tools will be provided to enable you to perform your duties to a high standard.
The base office is in Paignton, with occasional travel to this site.
Role Responsibilities:
* Carry out construction, fault fixing, and maintenance duties according to contract specifications.
* Maintain tools and equipment in good condition and restock as needed.
* Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns, resolving issues or initiating solutions while keeping customers informed.
* Provide accurate and timely updates on work progress in an understandable manner.
Skills and Experience:
* Qualified or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (e.g., carpentry, electrical). For plumbing, Level 3, Unvented G3 Certificate, and Water Regulations (WRAS) are required. Candidates must bring original certificates to interviews.
* Awareness of health and safety regulations and legislation.
* Skills in plumbing, carpentry, joinery, kitchen/bathroom installations, UPVC door/window fitting.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and plan ahead.
* A full valid UK driving license is required for driving company vehicles.
