Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Designer
Location: Caerphilly (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are working with a leading engineering company specialising in the downstream gas and petrochemical sectors, who are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Designer to join their growing team in Caerphilly.
The Role:
As an EC&I Designer, you’ll lead the scoping and detailed design of electrical and instrumentation systems, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
Your work will include producing and modifying key electrical and instrumentation drawings, such as:
Single-line diagrams
Cable block diagrams
P&IDs
Instrumentation loop diagrams
Hook-up drawings
Panel layouts
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation design.
Strong AutoCAD (or ProgCAD) skills.
Knowledge of BS7671 standards for electrical distribution drawings.
Experience with cable routing layouts and instrumentation systems (flow, pressure, temperature).
Familiarity with ATEX-certified equipment, intrinsic safety, and flameproof protection.
Experience with Relux lighting design software (desirable).
