Fabric Technician
Location: SN3 Area, Swindon
Pay Rate: £15.00 - £16.41 per hour (PAYE)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
Contract: Ongoing Temporary Assignment (until December 2026, with potential for extension or permanent employment)

We are currently recruiting for two Fabric Technicians to join a busy healthcare estate in the SN3 postcode area . This is an excellent opportunity for experienced fabric maintenance professionals with a strong carpentry background and fire door maintenance experience.
The successful candidates will be responsible for providing safe and efficient maintenance of building fabric and associated equipment across the site, working both independently and as part of a wider estates team.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of building fabric and associated equipment
Undertake a range of carpentry and general fabric maintenance tasks
Repair and maintain fire-rated doors in accordance with fire safety regulations
Ensure compliance with fire ratings, smoke sealing requirements and door clearance standards
Work from instructions provided by Estates Supervisors and Management
Complete maintenance work to a high standard within agreed timescales
Adhere to health and safety procedures and wear PPE where required
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
Work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors across the site
Requirements
NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (Essential)
Experience in all aspects of fire door inspection, maintenance and repair (Essential)
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Strong health and safety awareness
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
BM Trada Training (Desirable)
Standard DBS required
