Position Summary
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide specialist care for adult cystic fibrosis patients as part of a 12‑month secondment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day care for adults with cystic fibrosis across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
* Give specialist nursing advice and autonomously practice as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Assess patients during and upon completion of intravenous antibiotic courses, port flushes, lung function testing and blood tests.
* Communicate effectively across organisational and professional boundaries.
* Adapt to change, demonstrate flexibility and work independently within the team.
* Lead and manage priorities, delivering agreed objectives within the service.
* Work Monday‑Friday 09:00‑17:00 (approximately four days 08:00‑18:00) and travel by car to community visits and remote clinics across the Wessex region.
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Proven track record in acute care nursing.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Leadership/managerial experience to prioritise and deliver service objectives.
* Ability to organise access to a car or travel for community and regional work.
Working Conditions
