About the Role
The CAD Engineer will be responsible for creating architectural, mechanical & electrical design drawings and schematics associated with the development of layout building plans, elevations, sections, utility drawings, P&IDs, machinery layout drawings, pipework drawings, and isometrics working within the Projects and Engineering Departments.
Responsibilities
* CAD production of 2D drawings based on the design engineer's sketches, calculations, and input
* Generating plans, elevations, and isometric drawings from the design engineer's input while having an appreciation of civil, mechanical, electrical, and process systems
* Production of isometric drawings for pipe fabrication and installation
* Supporting and liaising with the engineering design teams across the group
* Clash detection management and performing QA/QC procedures
* Attending project team meetings as required
* Ability to visit sites and complete surveys to a high standard
* Supporting the engineering design team and liaise with external design teams, on CAD matters as appropriate
* Maintaining and improving the drawing office quality standards and documentation
* Co-ordinate preparation of all handover documentation
* Able to meet tight deadlines and able to work alone or with a team.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be educated to FETAC Level 6 or City & Guilds level with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
Required Skills
* Experience working with CAD in industry
* Experience of AutoCAD and experience in the use of Revit and Inventor or similar, would be advantageous
* Knowledge of M&E services coordination is desirable and knowledge and/or experience in BIM is advantageous
* Self-motivated, eager to learn, and prepared to progress with the company
* Ability to work on own initiative and within a multi-disciplined team to meet daily and weekly deadlines
* Range of administrative skills required, involving the use of PCs and PC application software for word processing and spreadsheets.
Desirable Skills
* P&ID skills and experience / pipework design experience is highly advantageous
* Experience working within an M&E design or process design environment
* Experience using Revit M&E, Plant 3D and/or Inventor
* Experience of working within pharmaceutical or food / beverage industries
