We are working in partnership with a highly regarded, family-run residential care home in the heart of Northampton. This well-established home provides a high standard of residential care for older adults and is now seeking a confident and capable
Senior Care Assistant
to take the lead on
night shifts

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong leadership qualities who has previously worked as the most senior person on shift — such as a Team Leader or experienced Senior Carer — and who is now looking for a stable, supportive team and real autonomy on nights.
*What We're Looking For
Minimum 1 year experience working as a
Senior Care Assistant
,
Team Leader
, or
Shift Leader*
in a UK residential care home
Confident managing and leading care shifts independently
Calm under pressure with excellent decision-making skills
Strong verbal communication and written documentation abilities
Medication Administration Experience Essential
Reliable, proactive, and able to delegate tasks professionally
Level 3 in Health & Social Care preferred (or working towards it)
Level 2 considered with strong leadership experience and willingness to train
Female applicants preferred due to current team balance (but not essential)
Must have

*Key Responsibilities*
* Leading the night care shift, ensuring smooth and safe handovers
* Administering medication accurately and in line with policy
* Monitoring resident wellbeing and acting as the key responder overnight
* Delegating tasks to junior staff and supporting with hands-on care when required
* Liaising with professionals and completing written records as needed
* Maintaining high standards of safeguarding, safety, and compliance throughout the night
* Making confident and independent decisions where needed - often acting as the most senior person in the building
