Position Summary
We have an opportunity for a Regional Property Health & Safety Advisor based in Scotland to join our Property Health and Safety Team covering Scotland. The main purpose of this role is to act as a subject‑matter expert in Health & Safety, providing high‑quality advice, guidance and partnership for continual improvement across the Sanctuary Group. The role will also act as a Principal Designer on construction projects.
Responsibilities
* Act as the H&S lead within a designated region, providing colleagues, managers and external contractors with clear guidance and practical advice on H&S issues.
* Act as Principal Design/CDM advisor for internal clients across various business areas.
* Support property colleagues with the planning and delivery of both Sanctuary property services and external contractor related reactive and proactive works.
* Undertake risk and method assessments, making prompt and appropriate interventions to ensure all building and refurbishment projects are compliant with CDM regulations.
* Undertake root‑cause analysis and accident/incident investigations when serious accidents or incidents occur and liaise with the Group’s legal and insurance teams to prepare legally sound reports.
* Support procurement and property teams during procurement projects, applying knowledge of specific compliance subjects such as asbestos, electrical and water hygiene safety.
* Identify and analyse H&S non‑conformance and accident/incident trends in a designated region.
* Promote awareness of H&S processes and provide partnership working with colleagues at all levels of the business to actively improve Sanctuary Group’s Health & Safety culture and vision.
Qualifications and Experience
* NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational H&S / Construction certificate or equivalent Level 3 Health and Safety qualification.
* P405 Management of Asbestos in Buildings qualification.
* CISRS Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme Certificate.
* Comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, legislation and current best practice relating to property (including CDM).
* Significant experience analysing information, identifying trends and producing tailored high‑level reports that are jargon‑free and easy to understand.
* Capacity to drive a company vehicle and hold a full valid UK driving licence.

£45,736 – £48,157 per year plus company car or car buy‑out. 35 hours per week – Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.
