We're looking for a talented individual to join our UK Finance Team as the Financial Accountant .
Key objectives
To be actively involved in the monthly reporting and accounting compliance for Westfield London, as well as related projects.
What you will be doing…
* Ownership of period-end closing procedures for leasing revenue and leasing capital expenditure, including liaising with relevant stakeholders to provide detailed variance analysis as part of QFR submissions.
* Ownership of actuals and forecasts for non-recoverable costs, including leasing fees, legal fees, and management fees.
* Ownership of period-end Group reporting processes, including intercompany reconciliations, reporting adjustments, closing procedures and analytical reviews.
* Preparation of Quarterly Finance Reports (QFR) for Westfield London, including variance analysis and forecasting.
* Assist the Westfield London Finance Manager in preparing the 5-year Business Plan, including all associated financial reporting, analysis and presentation material. Liaise directly with the respective business stakeholders for input into the process, and assist with the consolidation of financial data and migration of data into relevant reporting tools.
* Preparation of Quarterly Manager’s Reports to the external Joint Venture partner for Westfield London and other ad hoc Joint Venture information requests.
* Preparation of the Monthly Income Share with the external Joint Venture partner
* Support Westfield London Centre Finance Manager on annual group and statutory audit processes, including the coordination of requested supporting information from external auditors.
* Production of statutory account packs for operational entities, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, including:
o liaising with corporate accountants, commercial, tax, and legal.
o liaising with auditors
o Preparation of tax pack information
o Continuous improvement of the accounts production process
* Support the Westfield London Centre Finance Manager in any other ad hoc projects and/or implementation of strategies to improve operational performance or financial controls and processes.
What skills, experience, and knowledge will you need to be successful?
* Qualified Accountant, with strong FRS102 accounting knowledge, and strong experience in audits
* Experience in the Real Estate Industry is preferable but not critical
* Experience in owning full month-end processes and core reporting
* Evidence of strong financial skills – ability to link financial results to operational performance drivers
* Strong communication skills – ability to build relationships with different departments
* Experience of working alongside the audit team and other members of the finance team
* To have worked in a similar challenging environment with experience of working to tight deadlines
* Knowledge of SAP is an advantage
